Paper Crafts Nov/Dec 2013 Published Card

Today I am sharing one of my all time favorite cards.  This little darling was published in the November/December 2013 digital issue of Paper Crafts Magazine.

Funny thing about this card.  I remember the moment I thought of this sketch.  I was sitting in my big comfy leather chair holding my newborn, my older two boys were asleep.  I was just dying to get some crafting time in, but I knew it would be a while.  I had just got a whole bunch of sequins I was dying to use! Inspiration struck, and I just sketched away.

I have discovered I am a CAS girl at heart.  My whole life I have been trying to add details that just don't work for me.  I have to be honest with myself.  I am better at the simple look.  Turns out, I actually really like this discovery about myself.

If you would like a better view of this card be sure to check out this months digital issue of Paper Crafts.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop: Five Easy Christmas Tags

I have an addiction to jars and this addiction has pretty much caused me to become a hoarder of jars.  I just can't throw them away.  Baby food jars, spaghetti jars, fruit jars, you name it, I have to keep them.  So I'm thinking this Christmas all my gifts will be wrapped in, you guessed it JARS!  My children will only be getting matchbox cars and little army men, you know the kind of stuff that fits in jars. :)

So what better way to display my tags then with some bakers twine and a jar!

Anyway, on to the details of my tags I made for the Papertrey Blog Hop!

I had to keep it pretty simple and pretty quick (we are in the middle of some remodeling).  I grabbed the Framed Out #12 die and stamp set and used that as my starting point.  I am really drawn to the Scarlet Jewel, Aqua and Gold color combo for Christmas so, that is what I went with today. I decided to add dimension with some SEI Gold Dots.  I love the Gold, but you could easily add red dots if you were going for a more classic color combo.

Well, that's it for today,

Simple Fall Entry Table

When I moved into my new home I took it as an opportunity to start with a blank slate and decorate my home how I had always wanted it to be.  I am easily overwhelmed when it comes to choices and since I didn't want this to happen I took to the good old internet and did some research.  I stumbled across this post on Style Words on the Fieldstone Hill Design blog. After doing her style exercises I became confident in making choices and never again will I have designer paralysis, as she calls it.
The only question was where do I begin?

In my opinion, the entrance to your home is very important.  After all, it is the first thing people see.  So this is the first place I started.  I had an entry table that I bought at a garage sale for $20 and from there I started building my perfect entry.

My favorite thing about the entry is this Wreath.
The first thing I made was this wreath.  I just love the homey feeling you get when you see a wreath.  It was really simple and cheap to put together.  I grabbed a green foam wreath from Hobby Lobby, wrapped it with fabric and added the diy flowers.

I put together my own printable in Picasa and printed it on colored cardstock
Don't you just love pumpkins?  I'm pretty sure they are the most versatile decor item for fall. I painted one of my pumpkins with chalkboard paint and drew a little heart on it.  I just love that you can paint anything with chalkboard paint and it insistently looks awesome!

Well, that's it for today.

Birthday Cards

Today I am sharing some Birthday Cards I put together for a friend.  I really love putting gift sets together! Anyway,  I have a lot of new Studio Calico stamps that haven't been touched because I recently moved.  It was great to get out like five sets that haven't been touched and get to work.   These are my 2 favorite from the 20 I made.
