Hello, Baby!

Today, I am sharing a couple baby cards I included in some gift sets for a couple friends.

HOBBIESBYHOLLIE: Designed by Hollie Shepard
I love this first card so much!  I love the flair and that bow OH MY! I love bows!
It's also 98% Studio Calico kit material (cardstock is Papertrey Ink)!

The blue ink is Pool from Hero Arts and I look for a reason to use it on any card, it is just the perfect mid-tone color to pair with the darker blue.  I love blue and it seems to make an appearance on a lot of cards.

Look at those flowers!  I LOVE them! The patterned paper is part of the Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Parade.
I seriously love everything from the Dear Lizzy collection, !

I used the Headline letter dies from Papertrey Ink, and I don't for a day regret buying those!
They come in so handy!

Papertrey Ink: Watercolor Challenge

Today I am sharing a little project I got to work on with my boys.  My boys love to watercolor, so this was a perfect time to get the stuff out and do a project together.

Here is my inspiration found on pinterest

Here is my card:

I grabbed my heart dies from Papertrey and die cut the medium sized heart on a strip of paper.  Then I made my color selections, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise (turned out a little dark), Raspberry Fizz, and Orange Zest.   Using watercolor on cards is soon becoming one of my favorite techniques.  My Great Grandma use to be a wonderful painter and this reminds me of her.

Enjoy Your Special Day

Popping in super quick to share a couple of quick cards.  I had the chance to make a few cards a week ago or so, while the kids were napping.  I felt really inspired by some of the new PTI products I recently purchased.   I love this new little frame and also I am loving the Limeade Ice Ink !
I have been in a card making funk for a while, maybe it is my pregnancy brain.  This new little guy is due in 3 weeks so I am taking a break hoping my mojo will come back soon.

January 2013 PTI Blog Hop

Blog-hop-logo

It's been so long since I have been able to sit down and make a card.  Both kids have been sick and with pregnancy it has been so draining.

I put together this card super fast last night.  It was really hard to work with black, not sure but I think I was over thinking it.  I do like a challenge, so I gave it a try! :)

Christmas Cards and Food Packaging

Stopping in real fast to share some gifts I put together this past week for my Moms Bible Study Group.

This is a mini card that fits into this Glassine bag from Papertrey.
The card is 3 1/4 x 4 1/2, which is such a fun size to work with.

I have a lot of these jars, so I thought it would be neat to load them up with fudge.  I painted the lids with Chalk paint from the Martha Stewart Collection.  I printed off the label and drew on the little pictures (saw the idea on pinterest, but the link said it was spam, so not sure how to share that).

Here is the gift bag full of cookies!

Here is a close up of the Glassine Bag!  I love those little bags!
I die cut the Merry from the Wonderful Words Die Collection at PTI.
I couldn't go without adding a doily, I think it just finishes it off nicely!

Christmas Cards

I am so excited, I actually got my Christmas Cards done for the year!  It only took one whole nap time to knock this out so I am pretty excited! I decided to try a new color and added Pinefeather to my collection, I really like it for Christmas, not sure about other times.  Also, really loving the Tremendous Treats: Christmas!!  I plan on making some gifts tags and embellishments for wrapping later.

"Hogs and Kisses" Card and a Banner Tutorial

Today, I have a really cute card to share that is so simple to make!  I recently purchased the "Farm Fresh" stamp set from PTI.  I have to say I am in love with this set!  The best part is that it's great for gender neutral cards, which is something I have always struggled with.

Everything on this card is from Papertrey Ink, so pretty easy to find.  I chose Melon Berry and Aqua Mist (2 favorite colors right now) and went to town.  Love how this turned out!   It was hard to capture in the picture, but I used Versamark Ink to create a farm background behind the pig.

Next up, a little banner project!  I am in love with banners, I see so many ideas on Pinterest and I just can 't help myself. (I am hoping to make one for the new babies nursery)  Today, I am sharing with you a banner that can be for all seasons!  While at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago I came across a Canvas Pendent Scrapbooking album by Maya Road.  There were six pages for $6!  I couldn't resist, because I knew I could stretch this for all season.

Right now I have it ready for FALL, but with Velcro it can be used year round!

I hot glued the Velcro pieces in the center of the banner, then added my embellishments.

These little round burlap circles were right next to the banners at Hobby Lobby.  So cute!!  I made the little jar embellishment with  the Dear Lizzy Jar Set.  As you can see everything is able to come off due to the Velcro   I only used 5 of the banners so I would have an odd number, but with different seasons you could always add more banners .

Here is the finished project hanging up on my window mirror.
Total Cost for this project was $8, of course I had paper and ink on hand.
Plus, don't forget Hobby Lobby coupons and save even more!

I must add that I made this window like 8 years ago. I found the idea in Better Homes and Gardens or something, the old fashion way, before Pinterest! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you enjoyed!

Card Party Cards

Last weekend one of my good friends threw a Card Party for me. She invited some of her friends and family to come have a looksey! Today I am sharing some of the cards I put together for the Party. I did a couple boxed sets, which I really enjoy doing!
It really seems hard to keep up with my blog these day, don't know if it just me or what. I really don't know how other bloggers can do so much blogging!
I keep pretty busy with the boys, housework and trying to submit as much as I can. I have a lot of new stamp sets just begging to be used so I better get!

Have a wonderful day!

Preschool sites and a Mother's Day Card

Sometimes I get a little a head of myself when it comes to school and Ethan.  I have so many activities I want to do with him that maybe I start a little to soon ( I have tons of stuff filling my closets from when I taught).  Anyway, today I was remembering a days of the week song I learned in one of my education classes.  It made me think of a neat way to have a visual for the song .  Anyway Ethan wasn't too interested, but I thought I would share. :)

1. Print out days of the week
2. Cover with a lamination sheet ( happened to have some from student teaching 5 years ago, man I never get rid of anything)
3. Cut out and attach magnets
4. Have fun! :) (Bought blue board a while ago, glad I found a good use)

This site has tons of preschool stuff including free lesson plan sheets!  It is a Christian based homeschooling site, so just what I was looking for.  I need to look around some more, but what I found was awesome.  Also this site has Christian preschool printables.

Purple is never really my color, but I though I would give it a try.  I really like how this turned out and also really love my new PTI stamps. (Delightful Doilies and Button Boutique)

Love this card!! It is just my style!!  I also love how using the button dies from PTI allows you to have the buttons and still have a flat card that can be mailed. :)

Mediterranean Chicken Wrap

Workout was Great today, Ethan was a big help! He always reminds me to stretch! I thought I would pop in and share a yummy recipe that I have made a couple times! My hubby even likes it.

1 boneless chicken breast
1/2 cup Italian dressing
favorite wrap
3 T Hummus for each wrap
lettuce
2 large tomato slices for each wrap

1. Marinate chicken in dressing.  Grill chicken throughly, I broil mine in the oven
2. Cut chicken into then slices
3. Spread hummus on wrap
4. Place lettuce, tomatos, and sliced chicken on top of hummus
5. Roll the wrap and enjoy!

This is super easy and healthy and my 2 year old also eats it right up! I got this recipe from a Sabra Hummus containor, which by the way is really amazing hummus!! Can you tell I like hummus!! :)

No time to make a new card today, but I do have a little tag I made this weekend with some Papertrey Ink goodies!! Just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day for all the stuff I need to do and then the stuff I want to do.
