A quick little card!

Well, this is my second post of the day, so I will make it a quick one. I put this little card together using some scrap packing material that came with my new PTI stuff!! I had seen crinkle paper somewhere before but I can't remember where and I currently don't have a crinkle machine so when I saw this I thought it would be perfect for a card!! All the material is from PTI except the sentiment which is from TAC and also the ribbon is Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for stopping by have a safe and happy weekend! We are off to see some family back home with my son dressed up like a porcupine.

Plum Crazy challenge

The minute I saw the "Plum Crazy" post on the Moxie Fab site I knew I had to do something! I absolutely love this color and it is perfect for the type of card I had in mind, vintage. Plum is such a rich color that screams vintage to me. I just got my PTI order and was super excited to use my new Vintage Label stamps, which is a must have in any ones stamp collection. I had been searching through the Marthat Stewart website a couple days ago and found quilling instructions. "She has such a beautiful site I just love everything Martha Stewart!!" So anyway all of those things together helped my card come together!
Thanks for stopping by,
Hollie

Paper: Plum Pudding and Ripe Avocado, and Kraft

A card kit

I have been writing back and forth to my sister in law (she is 13) since they moved farther away. I have been wanting to have a day where we work on cards, but it has been hard to get her over our way so I decided to put together a simple little card kit.
Here is a picture of the kit before sending it:
This last card is something I put together for my nephews 2nd birthday!

Dawn's Color Challenge #18

Dawn put a new color challenge up this week! I have been brainstorming for a couple days trying to come up with a good sketch to go with her very bright and cheery colors! The green was really throwing me off a little. I didn't have any of the New Leaf Green from from PTI so I went searching for something similiar at Hobby Lobby.

I thought I would give a Christmas card a try! I downloaded a holly leaf template from the Internet and used some Making Memories assorted buttons for the berries. The card stock is all PTI except for the green which is from paper studio.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Not your regular ruffles, a moxie fab challenge

I can't believe that it has been so long since my last update. I have been working on a lot of cards just haven't had time to update. I decided to give this Moxie Fab Challenge a shot. Cath challenged us to make a card or other project with ruffles. I am still waiting on a sewing machine so I decided to use some staples. I really like how my card turned out and I am just loving the dark chocolate and enchanted evening ribbon together.

Supplies:
Stamp set: On my couch and sentiment from Vintage picnic
All PTI except Colorbox brown

WCMD Challenge #4

Well, this is the last and final challenge from Nicole's WCMD of challenges! She challenged us to use a dotted outline or masking on our card. I chose to use the dotted outline and I love it! It just makes the colors pop of the page. I used the little pumpkins from the vintage pinic stamp set ! I love this set because there are so many things you can do with it, Christmas, fall, birthdays, etc.
I decided to do a fall card with some ripe avocado ribbon!
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!!

World Card Making Challenge #3

The third challenge I tried my hand at was an Indian inspired card. I made my own little dress and used puff paint which I hope is alright, because I didn't have any rhinestones or jewels. (just getting started with cards) I also hope that because the main focus of my card isn't a stamped image that I can still be considered. I really had a lot of fun with every one of these challenges so far, as I read on someones blog Nichole is really taking us to a whole new level with these challenges.

Supplies:
PTI Plum Pudding
Stamp: Autumn Abundance Sentiment
Paper Company Metallic Ruby and Gold Crinkle Paper
Ribbon: Enchanted Evening
3 dimensional paint

WCMD Challenge #2

Here is my card for the 2nd challenge Nicole posted on her blog yesterday. The challenge was to make a card inspired by Mexican Art. I was inspired by the bright colors of a blanket I found while searching though Mexican Art.

WCMD Challenge #1: Japan

Well I am so happy that I stumbled across the WCMD Challenge #1: Japan over at Nicole's PTI blog!! This was truly a challenge, but that is just what I was looking for on World Card Making Day! The first challenge of the day was to make a card inspired by Japan or Japanese Art. After researching the topic I discovered that there are a lot of Cherry Blossoms in Japanese Paintings. I love to paint flowers, so I decided to do a little painting.

Here is one of the many beautiful paintings that caught my eye:
When I saw the background color I knew that I had to use PTI Summer Sunrise as my background.

Here is my finished card:

I used some acrylic paints on some thick art paper and then cut out the flowers and placed them on the summer sunrise cardstock!
Well I hope you enjoyed my card and thank you so much for stopping by!

A little project

I have been planning to send out little cards with a photo to Ethan's Grandparents for a while now and just now got the project done. I was just going to send out wallets until I ran into a little recycling project. I used left over magnet strips to make a refrigerator photo magnet.

Here are the pictures and how they turned out!

Another little project was felt flowers, which I had seen over on Dawn's blog. I didn't have one scrap of fabric in the whole house so I just used felt that I had left over from teaching.

The blue card is my favorite! I still have a lot of practice to do as far as making my own embellishments but I am sure having fun learning!
Have a great day!
